A bit on the journey so far

JTranslate started as a small console app to tackle a common localization challenge: large JSON locale files, missing keys, and translations that are hard to maintain at scale.

By leveraging the DeepL API for automated translation, combined with an extensive verification layer, JTranslate significantly reduces the effort required to keep locale files accurate and up to date. It has now evolved into a web application designed to support real-world app workflows and work alongside your projects as a sort of "localization companion".

We're thrilled to welcome you to the very first release of JTranslate! - A massive thank you for joining us so early on this journey 💚. Hopefully the app can bring some real value to your workflows. We'd love to hear your feedback (both positive and negative), or suggestions of any feature ideas you may have (hello@jtranslate.dev).

Looking ahead

JTranslate 1.0 is the first public release, and the project is just getting started.

Here's a glimpse of what's to come - please note this is not to be treated as a set in stone roadmap, but a set of feature ideas that may evolve and change over time and will be shaped by user feedback (so please feel free to get involved! Your input is very welcome: hello@jtranslate.dev)

Planned features (in no particular order):

• Project glossary for managing word/phrase translations, including blocked words/keys
• Project CDN for translations - we deliver your translations for you, so text updates go live without redeploying your app
• More integrations (GitHub, Slack, Discord, etc...)
• Project workflows for improved automation, i.e: when x happens do y...
• Project team collaboration with roles/permissions and potentially a common shared project key-pool for team members to use (big feature)
• A comprehensive translation reviewer solution, possibly with their own dedicated reviewer portal (big feature)

That's just a few of what comes to mind at the time of writing this, but all subject to change and what have you 😅 and as mentioned, we would love to hear your suggestions.
